Cozy up with a holiday twist on your breakfast! Eggnog Protein Oatmeal that tastes like Christmas in a bowl.


Why I love Eggnog Proats:
These eggnog proats are a festive way to start your day this holiday season.

Eggnog proats are sweet and yet macro balanced. No guilt involved.

This bowl is a quick and easy breakfast you can throw together. You can also prep ahead. I have taken this to work over the years.


Ingredients 

  • Gluten Free Quick Oats -  Oats are high in fiber, can help with digestion and may help lower cholesterol. Please be sure to check your oats if you have Celiac Disease. I only buy and use purity protocol oats. My favorite is from Bakery on Main
  • Protein Powder - Protein powder is a great way to add protein.   • Flax Meal - rich in omega-3's and high in fiber
  • Nut Butter - Cinnamon nut butter combines the rich, creamy texture of nut butter with the warm, sweet-spicy flavor of cinnamon. I love the OffBeat Cinnamon Bun spread. - use code GFMACROS to save 10%. You can also use almond butter, yet it isn't as flavorful.
  • Vegan EggnogVegan eggnog can be lower in cholesterol and saturated fats, depending on the base used (like almond or oat milk). My favorite over the years is BlueDiamond. I am eager to try the new Malk vegan eggnog.
  • Banana - rich in potassium, vitamins and magnesium.
  • Spray Cream - a convenient whip cream that is ready for use. I love the coconut spray cream from Trader Joes.
  • Cinnamon - helps with flavor and that amazing holiday baking smell!
  • Nutmeg - a flavorful spice that is not only great for holiday baking but also has antioxidant effects and anti-inflammatory properties.


{EGGNOG PROATS}

1/3c (30g) @bakeryonmain quick oats
24g eggnog or vanilla protein*
5g ground flax meal (optional-included in macros) 
1 Tbs (14g) @offbeatbutters cinnamon bun 
1/3c 80mL @bluediamond almond nog*
40g banana
2 Tbs spray cream 
Cinnamon
Nutmeg


DIRECTIONS: 
In a bowl, add oatmeal, protein, flax meal, and nut butter. 

Pour eggnog into your bowl. 

Mix

Top with bananas and spray cream. Sprinkle with cinnamon and nutmeg
