Eggnog Proats
With seasonal flavors like cinnamon and nutmeg this bowl is a nutritious and filling way to fuel up before diving into all the holiday festivities. Plus, it's easy to prep in advance!
Butterscotch Pull-Aparts
This sweet, sticky pull-apart bread will be a hit for Christmas breakfast, with its comforting butterscotch flavor and easy preparation!. They are a delicious and easy-to-make breakfast treat that’s perfect for Christmas morning. Prep ahead the night before for a quick and easy meal. It bakes while you open presents with loved ones.
Cinnamon Roll
Cinnamon rolls have become a beloved holiday tradition in many homes. Their warm, comforting aroma fills the house, creating a festive atmosphere and setting the perfect tone for the rest of the day’s celebrations.
If you are local to Utah, our family favorite cinnamon roll can be purchased from Sweet Cake Bake Shop.
This year I plan on trying a mix from Hand+Heart for our festive breakfast. (You can try code GFMACROS, it’s a discount not an affiliate code)
Once you set the pork in the crockpot with the seasonings, it practically cooks itself. This frees up time to focus on other aspects of holiday meal preparation or spending time with family.
The sweet and tangy profile of the balsamic glaze pairs well with a variety of holiday sides like roasted vegetables, mashed potatoes, or even a fresh salad, making it a versatile main dish option.
Pasta and Fruit Salad
My teens love this recipe and I usually only make it for special occasions. It's simple to make and is packed with flavor. My favorite gluten free pasta is Jovial pasta. The recipe is super simple since you cook the pasta, cut up the fruit and drizzle with Brianna's Poppyseed dressing. You can also add cashews if desired. We have also added cooked chicken, I bet leftover turkey would be a great addition for post -Thanksgiving.
Instant Pot Brown Rice
Cooking brown rice in the Instant Pot is much faster than traditional stovetop methods. It typically takes about 20-25 minutes, freeing up time for other parts of your Christmas dinner.
The Instant Pot ensures the rice comes out perfectly every time—fluffy, tender, and cooked evenly—without the need for constant attention.
I do not have this recipe posted anywhere yet, but what works well for us is to rinse off the rice. Place in the instant pot. Pour chicken stock over the rice. And use the pressure mode for 22 minutes. Allow to steam for 10 minutes.
Holiday Potatoes - Recipe from Rainbow Plant Life
These dairy free Holiday Potatoes have been a staple to our holiday meals the last several years. They are extra creamy and packed with flavor from the roasted garlic. These are actually time consuming, so we only make these for the holidays. Rainbow Plant Life is where I discovered this recipe. I love how she combines gold potatoes and russet potatoes for ideal texture. Note, we all them Holiday Potatoes or Garlic Potatoes. Nisha has named them The Best Vegan Mashed Potatoes.
Candied Yams
Candied yams are a childhood favorite and a favorite for my teens as well. I tend to prep this recipe the day before our feast to save time in the kitchen on the big day. Simply clean your yams (orange flesh sweet potato), slice into rounds, about 1/4" thick. Spary baking sheet and lay the yams on the sheet. Bake at 375° for 15-20 minutes, flip and repeat. Cook until yams are tender. Allow the yams to cool off. Once they are cool, remove the skin. Layer the yams in a 9x13 baking dish. Cut chunks of butter (I use dairy free) and spread through out the dish. Sprinkle with brown sugar. Store in the fridge until ready to bake. Bake at 350° for 30 minutes. Remove from the oven and top with mini marshmallows. Return to the oven and bake for an additional 15 minutes or until the marshmallows are toasty and golden.
Sweet Potato Biscuits
Sweet Potato Biscuits are simple to make. No need to wait for the dough to rise. No needing. No rolling. No cutting (unless desired). Sweet Potato Biscuits are soft, fluffy and bursting with flavor. These are the perfect addition to your holiday meal. We love these biscuits topped with dairy free butter and honey. They are amazing right out of the oven. These biscuits have amazing texture and are light and airy when using the recommended ingredients.
Roasted Veggies
Raspberry Jell-O Salad
The vibrant red color of the raspberry jello, combined with the white cream cheese layer and the golden-brown pretzel crust, creates a visually appealing dish that looks perfect on a holiday table.
Martinelli's Sparking Cider
Homemade Vegan Eggnog - original recipe from Rainbow Plant Life
The rich, creamy taste of eggnog, spiced with nutmeg and cinnamon, is associated with the warmth and coziness of the holiday season. The indulgent, sweet flavor is a comforting treat, perfect for sipping by the fire or during a holiday gathering.
I have adapted the recipe from Rainbow Plant Life. Switching up the sweetener and altering the seasonings. I have also used this vegan eggnog in my Eggnog Protein Oatmeal.
Birthday Cake
Christmas is celebrated as the birth of Jesus Christ, a momentous occasion in Christian tradition.
Having a birthday cake ties into the broader concept of celebrating someone's life and significance. What better way to celebrate Christmas with loved ones than with cake celebrating the birth of our Savior.
Easy Chocolate Cream Pie
This Easy Chocolate Cream Pie recipe is a chocolate lover’s dream dessert! Simple and decadent. Once you’ve made this delectable chocolate pie recipe from scratch, there’s simply no turning back to store-bought or instant pie fillings. This velvety, smooth, and decadently delicious dessert is bound to become a beloved staple in your home.
I make homemade graham crackers with Cup4Cup Ancient Grains gluten free flour blend.
*recipe can be found on my instagram page and will be coming to this blog soon!
Buttercream Pie
This pie is simple to whip up and it really is a crowd pleaser. It’s ALWAYS the first one gone. Don’t let the name fool you, it’s isn’t a cream pie. Just look at how thick the texture is! If raw egg isn't for you, you may not want to try this recipe. For those of us that have eaten our fair share of raw cookie dough this will be a pie worth making year after year.
For a gluten free pie crust, I like the taste and simplicity of King Arthur Pie crust mix. Another yummy option is the mix from Cup4Cup, though it does have dairy and is more time consuming, but delicious.
Wishing you a joyful and gluten-free Christmas filled with love, peace, and delicious treats! May your holiday be as sweet and special as you are, with all the warmth and cheer that comes with celebrating this beautiful season.
